Scuba DivingIf you are new to scuba diving and would like to learn the basics, or if you have dived before but would like to refresh your skills why not take some lessons from fully accredited instructors. There are some decent dive spots around the island itself, and trips to some of the very best dive locations in the Whitsundays can also be booked. |
The National Park
Experience the island’s incredible flora and fauna in almost 700 hectares of World Heritage National Parkland. Explore some of the more remote parts of the island bushwalking trails, and if you take the time to walk to the top of Mount Oldfield (don’t worry, it’s just over 200 metres above sea level) you will be rewarded with some absolutely breathtaking panoramic views out across the Whitsunday Islands.
Getting to Lindeman Island
You can get here by boat from Hamilton Island in around half an hour, or take a ferry from Shute Harbour on the mainland to Hamilton Island and then continue on to Lindeman Island. You can arrange your transportation when booking your holiday package.
Ferries are operated by the companies Cruise Whitsundays (07 4946 4662, info@cruisewhitsundays.com) and Fantasea Cruises (1800 650 851) with both services providing plenty of opportunity to take in the spectacular scenery during your journey. Contact them directly for the latest timetables.
Guests of Club Med can also choose the convenience of optional direct flights to and from the resort. Air Taxis (07 4946 9933) operate to and from Shute Harbour and Mackay on the mainland. Edwards Aviation (1800 747 800) can arrange charter flights too.
